How We Use AI at Vanuatu Pocket Guide

Travel has always been about real experiences. Being there. Meeting people face to face. Eating the food, joining the tours, getting sunburnt, rained on and sometimes completely lost. That part has not changed and never will.
AI, however, is now part of the world we live in. So instead of pretending it does not exist, we decided to be upfront about how we use it. Below is the honest version, no fluff.

What We Use AI For
Coding Help
We use AI as a coding assistant to help us build useful tools and features faster on our websites. It saves time on the technical stuff, so we can spend more time travelling and researching properly.
Brainstorming Social Ideas
We will be honest, we are terrible at socials. Really. Sometimes we ask AI to throw ideas around when our brains are fried after a long research trip.
Processing Notes After Trips
We come back from trips with notebooks, photos, voice notes and long to-do lists. AI helps us sort and organise that chaos, so updates get published faster for you.
Data and Table Formatting
For some articles, we use AI to help turn big chunks of information into simple tables or comparisons so they are quicker and easier to read.
Product Context Checks
When we showcase bookable experiences, we sometimes use AI to help check which product best fits the context of the article. The product still has to pass our real-world test first.
What We Do NOT Use AI For
Research
This is the big one. We do not use AI to research destinations or scrape old content from the internet. We travel constantly, meet locals, talk to operators and experience things ourselves. That is the core of everything we do.
Writing From Scraped Content
No copy-and-paste travel writing here. Every guide is built from firsthand experience, notes taken on the ground, and real conversations.
Images and Videos
All photos and videos are taken by our team. They are not always perfect and that is kind of the point. We do not generate images or videos with AI.
Chat Bots
We hate chatbots as much as you do. If you email us or message us on social media, you are talking to a real human who has actually been there.
Vetting Businesses
Every business we feature has been met in person by our team. We stay in the accommodation, eat the food and join the tours. Nothing beats hands-on experience by real travel writers.
That is it. This page exists purely for transparency. We believe travel information should be built on trust, and we hope you appreciate the open-door approach.
